I’ve heard of an exclusive club before, but this is ridiculous! 😆
This building is a rentable space managed by the city of Wilton Manors. It’s right near our new apartment complex—Tony and I moved in May—and I’ve seen multiple women going into and coming out of the building for yoga and Jazzercize classes. The building has had that name since the ‘50s.
When I started typing “Woman’s Club of Wilton Manors” into Google, some other South Florida options came up: Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove (which is in a neighborhood in Miami) and GFWC Woman’s Club of Homestead (which is in a city near Miami).
GFWC stands for General Federation of Women’s Clubs, which correctly uses the plural possessive that should really be in the clubs’ names.
